Hi all,
We hope that you’re all healthy and safe,
We are still negotiating the terms with the motor factory to make the new motors, but it’s not easy, the main issue is the MOQ (minimum order quantity) they require.
These kinds of motors are made by millions a month, and we can only commit to a few tens of thousands. So we are trying to find creative solutions but with no success so far.
We are also working on a different path, trying to change the design to fit a different motor, at this point this direction looks more promising but it takes time. Covid19 is not helping either, we can’t visit China and work on the solutions hand in hand with the factories.
We are at a point where it is much easier to give up, but we are still fighting to make this happen. Please consider the possibility that we are doing our best, before you leave a mean comment, or attack one of our team members (or their families) personally.
Most of our team members have changed in the last 2 years, mainly because our challenges have changed and we can’t keep them on the payroll.
These attacks are the main reason we are not updating often, after each update we/they are receiving dozens of mean messages.

Hi all,
It’s been 2 months since our last update and we are still trying to adjust our plans to the new situation.
We hope that you and your families are in good health and we're glad that things in the world are slowly getting back to normal. Unfortunately, we still can’t fly to China, and managing the motor situation remotely is very difficult.
Having said that, we are still working hard and not giving up. If for any reason, we will fail and stop trying, we will update. We are only saying that because we are getting messages every day asking if we are still working on LIMBO, so YES, we have spent the last 3 years of our lives on this product and we will fight for it as long as we can.
Explaining the motor situation
We have explained how we got into this situation in previous updates but we are still getting a lot of questions regarding it, so we will explain again.
The motor that we are using for LIMBO, the only design that works, is an old model that has not been manufactured for a few years, it’s declared EOL (End-of-life).
There are stocks on the market but they are not in the best condition and we couldn't find a big stock that passed our QA tests. This is the reason we can make LIMBOs that work in our lab, but we can’t mass manufacture LIMBO with these motors.
We have searched and found several factories that will produce the new motor, in fact, that was our original plan (before we launched the Kickstarter campaign). These factories promised us that they can produce the requested motor if we pay for tooling, however, they all have abandoned the process at some point. This had happened with more than 4 factories.
So we built tools to do the QA (quality assurance) and planned to fly to China in February 2020, but then came Covid-19.
Now the status is that we have a new factory that is trying to produce us new motors, and we are ordering stocks and testing them in our lab.
We hope that one of these solutions will allow us to start mass production soon.

Hi all,
We hope all of you are healthy and safe and that this mess will end up soon.
There’s no way to deny that things have become much more complicated for us, as we mentioned 2 updates ago, our plan was to visit China and sort the motors hands-on, to make sure all motors are perfect.
Due to the current status, we can’t fly to the factory and efforts to do it remotely have failed.
As for now, the only logical step we have is to make our own motor from scratch with the parameters we need, which means making and paying for all the tooling. The upside for this move is that if we succeed, you’ll all get new motors that would perform better, with fewer defects and longer product life.
We have started this process and we will report its progress, but it will take a few months.
As for the company, we have minimized the activity to the minimum possible, we have closed the office and the lab (It was closed anyway due to the Coronavirus).
At this point, we can’t offer refunds due to the fact that we can’t refund all of you, and even if we refund some of you, it will risk the chances that we will be able to deliver the rest of you.
We strongly believe in the saying: “You only fail when you give up”. We haven't given up yet and we will keep fighting.
These are hard times for us all, business wise and also in our personal lives, we hope that we will soon see better days.

Getting ready to filter the motors

Hi all,
It’s been a few weeks since the last update and we would like to share with you our progress.
All of our efforts are dedicated to filtering the motors, separating “good ones” from the rest. This is a complex task, as we need to test the motor's performance while they are working and spinning outside the top, simulating the way they would work inside the top.
The Motors
We have developed such a tool and already tested a few hundred motors. After the CNY (end of February), we will fly to China with this tool and teach the factory how to perform the tests.
We will update as soon as we'll get the results from China. Once we have enough motors that have passed the tests we can start manufacturing.
For those who might have concerns regarding the new epidemic and our health, The factory is, at the moment, located in a “non-risk area”, let’s hope this won’t be added to our obstacles list.
Moreover, we’ve read the different speculations of why we have closed the Indiegogo campaign, the answer is that it was closed by Indiegogo. They have changed their policies regarding Indemand projects and many projects were closed at the end of 2019, this doesn’t mean that the project is dead, just that it can’t accept new pledges.
