Dear backers,
It's time for another update. First, we would like to apologize again for the delay in delivery, and to report that we have reached a milestone that finally enables us to begin mass production.
LIMBO's prototypes worked great, but they used to wobble a bit, especially on very smooth surfaces.
You want LIMBO to spin for hours, but you also want LIMBO to spin smoothly.
Now with the new motor in place and additional improvements, LIMBO spins perfectly! The main improvement was achieved by adjusting the code of the new motor.
We are excited that we finally reached the precision we were after, as you can see in this video!

Now we can finally start mass production, and the next step will be to collect your BackerKit Surveys.
Backerkit Survey
For those of you that are not familiar with Backerkit’s surveys, it is a service that allows you to update your personal info (shipping address), manage your reward (choose the colors of LIMBO and the base), add more items or upgrade your current pledge.
We are working on the survey and we'll release it in a couple of weeks. We will send an update dedicated to the survey (so no need to ask us yet if it has been sent). The data from the survey will allow us to manage the production, so please answer it as soon as you get it, thanks.
New and upgraded base design:
We want to share with you the new base design:
As part of the new base design, we have added a branded metal ring around the base. It looks stunning and although it costs slightly more to produce (that’s on us) we have decided it’s definitely worth it and we’re sure you will too.
We will soon receive new production samples and we’ll share the photos with you. Then we will also decide on the color options for the metal rings. For the bases body we will keep the 3 options we showed on the campaign: White, Black, and Translucent).

We are working around the clock and aim to start shipping your LIMBOs by the end of August, we will keep you posted re our progress in the coming updates. Again, apologies for the delay, but we are getting there!

Why we (and other campaigns) suffer from delays

Hi all,
It’s been a month since our last update and here is the latest news. We will try to provide you with as many details as we can, keep in mind that even if these updates were for “backers only”, they can be read by our suppliers and also by people who are trying to copycat us (bastards).
Usually, before you launch a Kickstarter campaign, you have the time, but not the cash for mass production, so you try to prepare all your horses, so when the time comes ($$$), you will give the order and everything will run.
That works great for development, and that’s why we have our perfect prototypes.
These prototypes are the exact same design that we are going to mass produce, the DFM (design for manufacturing).
LIMBO is made from these main components:
2 Metal parts
1 ball bearing
3 plastic parts
PCB (printed circuit board)
1 Battery
1 Motor
Some of these components are being made by us, such as the metals, plastic, PCB, and some are off-the-shelf products.
The motor is a combination of both, It’s a standard motor that we are changing the shape of its weight. It works great when the factories are making the samples for us, they use CNC machines that make precise parts, however, when they shift to production samples, they are simply not good enough, even though they commit to the same quality.
We have been through this process 3 times in the past 6 months, we’ve learned a lot, and now we are waiting for the production samples of the current supplier. We will receive them in the next 2 weeks.
From the time we’ll approve the motor it will take 6-8 weeks to finish production.
That’s why our current estimation is that LIMBO will be shipped this June, but till we won’t approve the final production motor, the deadline can move.
That’s also why we thought we could deliver in December, then February, then April. When we talk to other Kickstarter creators, this seems to be a common issue.
Having all that said, we are still fearless and we hope that this June we will start shipping LIMBO.
So what we are doing with our “free” time?
Preparing for the delivery, lots of logistics and bureaucracy.
Improving the code, especially the power management that can always be improved.
Working on other accessories that we will offer you on the backer kit. One of them will be a free surprise.
Working on the next versions of LIMBO.
All these tasks do NOT affect the delivery date but improve the product that you will receive and future amazing LIMBOs.

It's not a spelling mistake, “Hello” in German is “Hallo”, complicated language.
We just finished presenting LIMBO at the world’s biggest toy fair and the feedback we got was amazing! We had people standing near he booth waiting for LIMBO to stop (we offered them a chair). After a while we had to tell them LIMBO’s secret but even then people are mesmerized.
And that’s exactly why we created LIMBO.

As we mentioned on the previous update, it’s all about the motor, all other components are ready for mass production.
The Chinese new year vacation has finally ended and next week the motor factory will get back to work on the tooling for our needs.
We will update as soon as we have exciting news.

2019 first update

Hi Fearless backers,
We hope y'all enjoyed and survived the holidays.
We would like to share with you the progress and our feelings about LIMBO.
These days, the motor development takes up most of our efforts. we are working directly with the Chinese factory development team. LIMBO's needs are very different from any other motor on the market, but we are on it.
Since our last update, we’ve received new motors and they work great, but there are one or two more iterations that we need to carry out in order to make them perfect. In addition, the factory needs to perform its own different QA tests to the motor’s lifetime.
For now it looks like we should get the motors up and running at the beginning of February. By then all other components will be ready, the only question is whether we’ll manage to assemble all the products before the Chinese new year. We are looking for options to assemble LIMBO in the US.
The current delivery date is March or April (depending on the progress). The survey will be sent one month before the delivery to ensure that your address is up to date.
We also think waiting sucks, but we just can't release LIMBO if it's not perfect, and the custom motor is now the key for that.
